Abstract:
In this paper, the investigation and optimization of (CIGS)-based solar cells were analyzed and designed by Silvaco-1D software. This paper deals with the influence of a thickness of intrinsic layer, doping density of n-type layer and for different types of TCO layers on the performance of the CIGS-based solar cells. The J-V characteristics and the photovoltaic parameters have been calculated assuming a good optimized structure. Our simulated results exhibit how the absorber and buffer layers thickness, defect density influence the short-circuit current density Isc is 34.235344 , open-circuit voltage Voc is 0.51, fill factor FF is 0.934, and efficiency (η) of solar cell. The optimized solar cell shows an efficiency of 16 % under the AM1.5G spectrum and one sun.
