dc.description.abstract Pharmacology study of Chaturbhuha Ras (CVR) an Ayurvedic preparation was used and experiments were carried out utilizing small laboratory animals. Here different types of studies were done to see different pharmacological effect of CVR. Oral administration of CVR was found to decrease the activity of the animals. The test of Hypoxia is usually carried out to see the hypothermia or hyperthermia effect. In hypoxia test been carried out, survival time has increased without any significant effect. In formalin induced paw licking the drug exerted a mild anti inflammatory effect and showed decrease in analgesic activity compared to control group. The study carried out to see the neuropharmacological effects / side-effects like-open field, hole cross, hole board showed an decrease in ambulatory effect in generally and some of the data were significant. In neuropharmacological studies drug treated mice exerted decrease in emotional defecation. en_US
