English language is the language developed in England and now used throughout the British commonwealth of nations, in the united state of America and in other parts of the world. About 270 million people speak in English Language.
The British conquest of Indo-Pak-Bangladesh sun-continent is a significant historical event. In 1829 Lord William Bentinck, the Governor General of India, made a decision which produced for reaching effect on the people of the sub-continent. A new law was promulgated. According to their law, English would become the official language of British India. In schools and colleges students would be taught western sciences through the medium of English.
According English become state language and the medium of instruction in educational institutions. The Hindu community of the country accepted English. They began to send their children to English schools. Soon these English educated people were given important jobs in serious departments of the government. |
