<title>Report on Silicon Properties</title>
<link>http://dspace.ewubd.edu:8080/handle/123456789/4097</link>
<description>Report on Silicon Properties
Hossain, Mehrin
My intern report was based on the topics which r have covered during my BSc on EEE in the East&#13;
West University. In my report J have mainly covered the topics on the Power system, the Substation, The&#13;
wiring of a building, the light and electric appliances of a building, the protection of a building, the generator&#13;
and lift of a building. r have learnt a lot regarding the topics mentioned above. During my BSe m&#13;
engineering, the most of the thinf,l"S I learnt were theoretical; I had little chance to learn them practically.&#13;
This report includes nine topics, within which there are sub topics. The first chapter includes the&#13;
objective of the internship, sources and methods of data collection, the benefit of study, the internship&#13;
schedule and the limitations. Chapter 2 includes the Company profile of the SiliCQn Properties. Chapter 3&#13;
includes the load calculations of a room, an apartment and a building. Chapter 4 is about the Lift Installation&#13;
in a Building. Under this topic, the subtopics are the agreements made before installing the lift, details of the&#13;
general features of the lift, care of the building and guarantee. Chapter 5 includes the inspect·ion of a substation and the single-line diagram of the substation. Chapter&#13;
6 is all about the protection of a building, which includes the use of lightning rod, lightning arrestor etc.&#13;
Chapter 7 involves the wiring of a building, the light and electrical appliance placements of a building. The&#13;
chapter 8 is about the generator of a building, how it works and its placement. The last chapter which is&#13;
chapter 9 is the conclusion of my internship report.
This internship submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of B.Sc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering of East West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

<title>Report on Fundamental of Power Solutions and Maintenance</title>
<link>http://dspace.ewubd.edu:8080/handle/123456789/4096</link>
<description>Report on Fundamental of Power Solutions and Maintenance
Md. Moin-UI-Hasan
This report is to introduce the fundamentaJ of power solutions and maintenances of&#13;
a data center. This report actually focuses on different machines, which are being used on&#13;
Data Center Solution &amp; Service especially on uninterruptible power system. The&#13;
operations of these machines are illustrated here. The major technical part is the input&#13;
electrical arrangement of these machines. The electrical arrangement for power systems&#13;
is also focused in this report. We have discussed the details of uninterruptible power&#13;
systems which has also been included in this report. I worked at Valley Power Solutions Limited as intern for 6 weeks. My work was to&#13;
know about Data Center Power Solution &amp; Service. I knew about some equipment widely&#13;
used in Power Solutions. I tried acquiring some knowledge about basics on power&#13;
problems and solution and basics on data center from my own point of view with the help&#13;
of different websites. These works are attached with this document.&#13;
Here I learned about power solution and service networking and network&#13;
components. This report contains a detail description about some network components. I&#13;
also learned about uninterruptible power systems. This report also contains a detailed&#13;
overview of the physical aspects of the data center. While working with Valley Power Solutions Limited, I have got a lot of opportunities&#13;
to see and learn how the machines are functioning mechanically with electric power. I&#13;
have tried my best to share this knowledge that has been included in this report. I would&#13;
consider my effort to be successful if it has been of use to anyone.

<title>Direct Control of Process Equipment’s in a Distributed Control System</title>
<link>http://dspace.ewubd.edu:8080/handle/123456789/3994</link>
<description>Direct Control of Process Equipment’s in a Distributed Control System
Subbir, Jobair Hasan; Tabassum, Noushin
Distributed control systems (DCS) are employed in complex process control systems for&#13;
monitoring, supervision, setpoint control and direct equipment control. In this project we&#13;
concentrate on direct equipment control using a general purpose data acquisition module.&#13;
A software program with a graphical user interface (GUI) is designed using Visual Basic in&#13;
.Net environment that involve three processes. Monitoring textboxes, setpoint spin controls&#13;
and checkboxlbutton based direct equipment control is accomplished in the GUI design.&#13;
Control signals from the GUI program are sent to the process equipments using an Advantech&#13;
USB-4711A DAQ module. Signals from the DAQ module are optically isolated and ON/OFF&#13;
signals are passed to the process equipments through relay interface. The proposed technique&#13;
of using general purpose DAQ hardware as a control device is supposed to be new in the era&#13;
of DCS. The system is tested in the laboratory and is found to work satisfactorily.

<description>Report on Polli Bidyut Somity-1
Badhun, Md.Rashedunnabi; Khalil, Md.Ibrahim
Polli Bidyut  Somity-I (PB S-I) is one of the best electricity distribution companies III&#13;
Bangladesh. The site we visited is situated in Nobinogor, Savar. We started our internship on&#13;
August 2010. Before starting our internship in PBS-I, an internship schedule and a group&#13;
were provided with the internship approval letter by PBS-I. During our internship we have&#13;
several places such as Summit Power Limited, United Power Generation and distribution&#13;
Company Limited, Power Grid Company Bangladesh and their own distribution substation etc.&#13;
our internship we have learned about their power generation, power distribution, staking,&#13;
and supervision and many other things. The experience of our internship was enjoyable&#13;
educational.
