Tanin, Epsita
There are 39 different languages of Bangladesh, Bengali is far and away the most widely most language in the country-an estimated 98% of the population can speak it and it enjoys the status of official language and the lingua franca of the nation. Mother tongue or first language is perhaps the most favorite thing for any person The question of language has resulted into many conflicts and documents The prime example of such discontentment is the Language movement of 1952 in Bangladesh. On the other hand we can not live in isolation. We have to be in contact with the speakers of other languages. Bangladesh is considered to be a monolingual country in which more than 98% of the population is speakers of bangla language. Bangladesh has 39 minority languages and all are living languages So, Bangladesh is often portrayed as a country of linguistic unity based on BangIa language in reality it has notable linguistic diversity. But as the situation goes now, it seems that within the next 20 to 25 years these languages might completely disappear, except for a few major languages, the language of Advise are small in number are similarly treated. Many of those do not have written form, but we must proliferate in order to keep the language from meeting their demise. According to to the United Nation (UN) declaration, people of all communities of the have the right to get educated in their own languages. Bangladesh has also signed the declaration. But in reality, minority people are not getting the opportunity to be educated i n their own languages. So, along with the government, we all should step forward to save minority languages, culture & heritage which are rich bare bones for our country.
